What Will it BEE?!

Well, we’re back from our 2 week trip to Kansas & Missouri, so it’s time to catch up the blog.  It was a whirlwind of a trip with flying to Wichita, driving to Chanute, Independence, Lyons & Branson we racked up plenty of miles in the car.

Our first stop was Uncle Bret, Aunt Chelle, Madi & Molly’s house.  Justin & I spent one night there, then left the girls with them for a night.  That was my first night ever to leave the kids.  They did great!  In fact, when we called to tell them good night, no one even wanted to talk to us.  It’s safe to say they had great time with them.  They are so lucky to have Madi & Molly for cousins.  They honestly just adore them!

Then Justin & I drove back to Chanute so we could take them trick-or-treating.  Audrie was Woody, Ellie was Jessie, Justin was Buzz Lightyear & I was Mr. Potato Head..All from Toy Story!  More photos of their costumes soon!toy story costumesjessie toy story costume dresstoy story costumestoy story costume

After trick-or-treating we did our big “Gender Reveal”  with our “What will it BEE?”  cupcakes.  IT”S A GIRL!!gender reveal cupcake

Then we headed to Lyons to see my side of the family.   My Aunt & her family came up a couple of times which was great.  We had a gender reveal party there too.  My cousin Allie made some delicious “gender reveal” cake balls!  Again, it was a girl!!

We had tons of fun with my family.   We spent most of our time out at Camp Wajato because the girls couldn’t get enough of the giant tire swing.  How I have no pictures of this is a mystery!  My camera must have been MIA in Lyons!  We of course had our El dee fix several times.  And Ma’ma bought Audrie & Ellie the Barbie Princess they’ve been begging for!  Or as Ellie would call her “Garbie.”  Madi & Molly let us bring along their Littlest Pet Shop from when they were little & the girls spent hours & hours with it.  They even talked Aunt Paula into playing 🙂  So, after a few day of fun we packed up again & headed to Independence.

The girls loved riding the gator, swinging on their swing set & playing downstairs with Madi & Molly’s kitchen set up!  And we couldn’t leave Kansas without them jumping in a pile of leaves which they had been asking to do for weeks!    After a few days in Independence we packed up for our last leg of the trip, Branson for Kenny’s wedding.table rock lake

I found a great little vacation rental online which our family, Justin’s parents & Madi & Molly stayed at.  It was perfect!  It had all kinds of nature trails & was 1/4 mile walk to Table Rock lake, table rock laketable rock lakedogwood nature parkSaturday was Kenny’s wedding at Dogwood Nature Park which was beautiful!dogwood nature park weddingThen I was snapping pictures of Amber & her dad during the father-daughter dance & I looked up at the balcony & saw this.  I couldn’t help but well up.  Just made me realize that it won’t be long before we are marrying our girls off!  Audrie kept saying she was up there marrying her daddy…maybe we should just keep it that way!daddy daughter danceWe had a wonderful time in Branson & would love to go back to stay at this house next time for a longer stay.  We had a great trip overall & the best part is…we made it 20+ hours in the car & Audrie never puked!  Victory!
