Awestruck

“Awestruck”  defined as being affected with great wonder or surprise.

That’s how I would describe our recent trip to the Phoenix Children’s Museum.  I love it when you look at the face of your child & they have an expression of pure joy & amazement!  We hadn’t been since the twins were a little smaller, so it was interesting to see them enjoying the museum differently.  They spent much more time in the fort building area.  It was cool to see their imaginations take over!  And I’m pretty sure Mallorie enjoyed her first trip there too:-)

3 years of Princess Dresses

The girls got their first Playful Princesses dress for Halloween when they were 2 years old.  It was Rapunzel & they literally only took the dress off when I forced them too.  Since then we’ve had just about every princess dress from her shop that you can imagine.   They don’t spend quite as much time in them anymore, probably only a couple of days a week…compared to 10 hours a day, every day!  The really great thing about these dresses is that they  hold up to being washed a million times & are easy to play in without tripping over them!  The quality of these handmade princess dresses is amazing!

At any rate, I’ve been wanting to do this shoot for awhile now.  I really wanted to capture how special these dresses have been to them!   handmade princess dresseshandmade princess dresseshandmade princess dresseshandmade princess dresseshandmade princess dresseshandmade princess dresseshandmade princess dresseshandmade princess dresseshandmade princess dresses

Halloween 2014

This was probably our best Halloween yet.  Audrie was Snow White & Mallorie was her dwarf  “Doc.”  Ellie was Briar Rose, a.k.a  Sleeping Beauty.   Of course made by none other than Playful Princesses.snow white costume, briar rose & doc dwarfSnow white costume, briar rose, doc dwarfOur new neighborhood has tons of kids which made for a fun night.  We started out with a block party, then headed out to trick or treat with our neighbors & one of the twin’s friends from school.   Audrie & Ellie were much  less timid this year & really seemed to have a great time.  Mallorie was way more fun than I anticipated.  She really got into it.  I wheeled her in the wagon & she would hold out her hand & attempt a “trick or treat”  followed by a “thank you.”  Then she would wave & say “byyyee!”  It was too cute!

Last Day In Caribbean

Well, if you told me I’d be sad to leave our house on Caribbean 4 years ago I would have never believed you. We moved in sight unseen 4 years ago & only intended on living there 30 days!  Justin was selling the property for a friend of his back then & when the buyer backed out of the deal, Justin decided we should buy it.  It needed soo much work & I was NOT excited to buy it!  But low & behold we gutted the entire house & made it into our home.   It ended up being a really good house to us!

Being married to a Real Estate agent, we move around a lot;  so I normally don’t get overly attached to a house. But Caribbean held so many memories for me.  We moved in right before Audrie & Ellie turned one.  All 3 of our girls learned to walk there. They all 3 learned to swim there. We spent hours upon hours in the pool or on the swing set. We had many great movie nights, rode balance bikes up & down the hills in the yard, etc., etc.

Not going to lie, when I went to gather the last of our belongings & said my good-bye’s to the house…I shed a few tears, ok more than a few. But onward & upward. Our family has grown over the past 4 years & quite simply we outgrew that house! But I hope someone enjoys it & makes as many memories as we did!  These are some photos I captured on the last night we spent at the house!
